Hello everyone, We Connected Productions, LLC wants to introduce you to Kompalya Thunderbird. She is a writer, who currently resides in Bangkok, Thailand. Kompalya is in the process of completing the research necessary to accomplish her first book. The book deals with African women caught within the vicious cycle of Human Trafficking.
Kompalya states her passion for travel first came into fruition studying abroad while in undergraduate school. She traveled to England to study Theater. During her semester in England she was able to experience a new culture through the arts, but swiftly recognized her intense passion to see the world using the arts as her medium. To date Kompalya have lived in two different countries for three consecutive years and hopes to continue along this path. Her passion is to experience cultures beneath the iceberg, to move into areas where she can reside with the locals and fathom their way of life, beyond the tourist perceptions.
Kompalya’s main sacrifice was her career, not being able to follow a formal career path.
Kompalya’s Travel Advice:
“My advice is to leap! Consider a few destinations you wish to travel to and find a group that can cater to your needs. Travel groups for women are expanding, hence if you are a solo traveler you can make new friends as you explore the globe. Ponder over all of the exciting places you will visit, the food, language and how these encounters will possibly change your life forever. If you have a few friends to roam the planet with put together an itinerary that fits your schedule and budget and get started. Look for travel deals and explore local areas with local transport. My fondest memories are traveling through Sri Lanka with the local buses. It gave me an opportunity to see the culture up close. With the local buses I had a view of many of the local villages and people. You can also find volunteering opportunities, teaching positions, house sitting or ways to start your own business.”
